Volunteer Met officer guilty of child rape

A Metropolitan Police volunteer officer has been found guilty of raping and sexually assaulting a child.

James Bubb, who now identifies as a woman named Gwyn Samuels, had been accused of grooming and raping a girl he met online, and of raping a woman, during a Crown court trial in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

Bubb, from Chesham, had denied child rape, rape, sexual activity with a child and sexual assault.

Jurors were told the defendant, who still identified as male at the time of the alleged offences, would be referred to by their biological sex throughout the trial.
